As writers we will be extending our vocabulary and experimenting with sentence structures. We will be looking at different types of poetry and writing our own as well as exploring non-fiction texts.

As readers we will enjoy a range of information books, stories and poems about volcanoes, earthquakes and floods.

As mathematicians, we will be thinking about place value, and moving on to number. We will be working on fact fluency and the 3 times table.

As geographers we will be explaining how volcanoes are formed and where they are found. We will be investigating why people choose to live near volcanoes and comparing the human and physical geography of volcanic regions to Cumbria.

As artists we will be exploring printing techniques using a range of materials to create line and pattern.

As designers, we will be designing and evaluating games featuring magnets.
